On Friday November 27, the final race day of the Aruba Heineken Catamaran Regatta 2009 had to be cancelled. The 28 knots strong trade wind put an early end to the sailing competition and battle for bronze. The German Dart duo Matthias Huber and Dominik Volke could celebrate its third position. John Moret and Paul Smissaert (NED) remain in second position at the Aruba Heineken Catamaran Regatta, followed by Leo Ambtman and Maarten Kroon on the Tornado. The prize giving will be at Moomba's Beach during a dinner party with live music.

Nacra is proud to announce the upcoming launch of its new flagship, the NACRA F20 Carbon. This latest addition to the Nacra range is a new high performance 20 ft catamaran.
Peter Vink, head of the development team: “ The whole development team is very proud to share the first information about the new Nacra F20 Carbon. We have been working with the best-of-the best in the maritime industry to ensure that this is truly a “king of the beach” boat. It will be bigger, wider and faster than anything in-or outside its class”. Although nicknamed “Babyzilla” by the team, it will still be a boat that can be sailed by the local clubracer and be able to win at it’s first outing at the clubrace.

Tight races, tricky winds anda lot of fun on the water. These were the conditions for the 2009 german F18 nationals at lake Brombach. The sailors competed in 12 races at 4 days in a breeze from 2 up to 5 Bft.
In the first days there has been a close contest between Justus Wolf/Rea Nies on their Capricorn and the Infusion-sailing Sach brothers, which had the lead at the end. Even though, they were able to strike out a 2nd place. Lindstaedt/Boll (on Infusion), Elterlein/Regahl (Infusion) and Ruebling/Bock (Tiger) fought for the 3rd place, which was finally taken by Sven Lindstaedt and Philip Boll. They made the best pace at the gusty Thursday, were some other teams capsized, but did also a well job at calm Sunday.

2009 Formula F18 North American Championship
Nacra wins @ Alamitos Bay Yacht Club
There was some inpressive racing at the Yacht Club. World Champion Coen de Koning and Thijs Visser were taking the lead in the first half of the event with team Larsen/Van Leeuwen and Team Melvin at their tailfeathers. This changed in the second half of the event where Larsen took over the first place and did not give any lenght to the rest of the fleet.
An impressive effort was laid down by Team Melvin. Pete was sailing with his 14 year old son James and they never left the top ten. They finished at 4th place. Good job guys!
End results
1st Larsen/Van Leeuwen Nacra Infusion 2nd De Koning/Visser Nacra Infusion 3rd Thomas/Bernier Hobie Wild Cat |
